Are you ready to start blogging? Maybe you are a pastor who wants to post his sermon manuscripts for his congregation? Maybe you are a student who wants to keep up with friends and family? Blogging has made creating and maintaining a personal website accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
Blogging is easy. WordPress.com and Blogger.com are easy to learn. If you can write an email or create a word document you can use these free services.
There are some limits to these platforms. Most notably the address of you blog will be either “yourblog.wordpress.com” or “yourblog.blogspot.com.” However, you can upgrade to “yourname.com” later for about $10 per year. Any name option will depend on availability.
I would recommend WordPress.com rather than Blogger.com – unless you are very non-technical. Blogger seem slightly easier to use, but it lacks the flexibility and advanced features you will want 3 months from now.
