Mission Opportunity in Columbia, Mo. During August 15-24

***This is a Re-Post.  This post was originally published on July 4, 2008.***

Kevin Larson, pastor of Karis Community Church recently sent out an email seeking those who would be interested in missions work in the mid-west.  He writes:

Karis Community Church, a Baptist, Acts 29, and Reformed church plant in Columbia, Missouri (www.karischurch.org), is moving into a new location this fall–the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts.  In preparation for this move, the church is seeking to do a great deal of publicity in order to let the city know about the new church.

Karis (pronounced CAR-us), hopes to get mission teams from churches (youth, college students, retired people, whoever) to come and help hang up door hangers the weekend of August 15-17 and August 22-24, as well as days in between.  This is a great entry-level mission trip for a congregation as it is primarily just distributing information.  If you are interested, email kevin@karischurch.org for more information.

Columbia, Missouri would offer a great chance for evangelism as well because of its being a college town (Mizzou Tigers).  You would also be two hours from either Kansas City (west) or St. Louis (east) which would offer plenty of excitement for a day as well.
