New Features: Asides

I’m testing a new feature at Said At Southern we’ll call “Asides” for now. Asides work just like regular posts, except they are displayed in the sidebar. This will allow us to post links and news items without burying our featured articles. Let me know what you think.

  1. Well, so far it appears these are being ignored. I know I often ignore sidebars. Oh wait, they’ve only been up a day. Objection withdrawn.

  2. I read most of my blogs by RSS only – although I do pop by the ‘actual’ site occasionally. Despite the fact that I don’t normally know that certain posts are from the sidebar section, I like the idea of a sideblog and am planning on having one on my site when I release my latest design.

I’m using the mini-pot plugin for WordPress. It was the easiest way and it seems to work well.

All blogs are ignored, until it’s too late and bloggers take over the world.

  4. Tony Kummer, thanks I’ll go now and check it out. 🙂

  5. Tony Kummer, mini-pot or mini-post? I’m guessing post…

  6. I like having more information to peruse while not having the articles buried. Good call on the “asides!”

right – sorry for the typo
