Terry Delaney has been blogging about his burden to pray for his teachers at Southern Seminary. So, we’re asking for your feedback. Take the poll or leave a comment. He writes:
Here is what I am propositioning: In addition to covenanting to pray for Dr. Mohler, the president of the seminary, what if we all chose a professor (or two) from our current class schedules to covenant with in prayer.

If you have read my original post on this, I would greatly appreciate any thoughts you might have as to how to get this initiated on our campus at Southern. I would love to hear some language you would use if you were to write up a covenant to pray. I have some ideas and am praying that something can be in place for the start of the next school year.
I would also appreciate any thoughts y’all (Dr. Orrick would be proud) have about this. Do you think not praying for the professors is a problem or am I making to broad a generalization?

Well, it would appear that Mr. Delaney is starting a bit of a revolution. I posted a similar poll on the Going to Seminary site. For me, I’ve found that simply praying for my professors before class begins has been a good approach. When I see them walk in I am reminded that they are real men, with real families, and real challenges… So, I pray for them while that thought is fresh in my mind. And I didn’t start doing this until I read Terry’s post… So, thanks for prodding us on Terry.

I’m glad to see this initiative taking place. The life of a seminary professor must be difficult, balancing teaching, church ministry, and family commitments all at once.
