I don’t usually go in for these online quizzes, but being a Southern Baptist from Indiana means nearly all our pastors are Southern talkers – especially in SBTS land.
| What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland
“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |

Can I have the last five minutes of my life back?
It just told me I am midland as well. What is funny is the first time I saw the word “collander” written out (about three years ago) I laughed because it was mispelled. Turns out, I was not pronouncing the word right. The same for “guarantee.” I thought the first ‘a’ was a typo. Nope! Who knew?
Anyway, my wife was inland north but she does not call soda “pop!” All soda falls into two categories for her: Pepsi or not-Pepsi.

Terry, you are midland! hahaha.
And tell your wife it’s all “coke”, whether it’s Pepsi or not…

Yeah, I got “midland” too. Anyone who’s heard me talk knows I sound nothing like you Northern people.
And yes, it’s “Coke” not Pepsi.

It was a goofy test, I had to keep saying the words outloud because they all sounded the same to me.
I was doing the same thing. Not because they sound the same to me but because they sound the same because that is just the way it is!
