Said at Southern – updates & new features

A few programming notes for Said At Southern readers:

  • Terry Delaney has agreed to provide an abstract of his chapel blogging here at Said at Southern. His goal is to provide a brief summary of who said what at the Southern Seminary chapel. He’ll link to the Mp3 and his full summary on his personal blog.
  • We are planning a series of blog debates over the semester. The plan is to offer a summary of opposing views, by several contributors, within a single post. Then open up the comments for the fallout.
  • Don’t forget our Student, Alumni and Faculty pages display live headlines from 176 Southern Seminary related bloggers.
  • I’m seeking input on the “Well Said” feature. My original approach yields more featured posts than I have room to display. So I’m thinking of more strict criteria. Leave your suggestions in the comments. Here is the current description of Well Said:

I manually scan all the feeds for posts that seem to merit further consideration. I avoid posts that are very short, primarily block quotes or mainly personal in nature. I always try to link in-depth articles, book review or student papers. Consider this a first level filter to the many blogs we index here at Said At Southern. I will occasionally add a non Southern post to Well Said when the content relates directly to SBTS.

Just to let everyone know, I am not always able to link to the MP3 because it is not always readily available that evening. However, I will direct you as to which chapel message you need to download and will have a link to the page where you can download it.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
