Jeremiah,

On Hebrew, I feel like I'm treading water right now, trying to keep my head up. Hopefully that will be different in a few weeks!

Doug,

Great series. Regarding one-on-one mentoring, you may want to also check out a recent sermon/article by Paul Martin, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Toronto:

www.torontopastors.org/scheduled-events/pastor-mentor-the-young-men.php

You can find the audio, as well as the pdf article there.

Jeremiah

PS- I think we're in the same Elementary Hebrew online course right now- how's it coming for you?

When I became a Christian 33 years ago, I felt that I was called to ministry in some capacity, but did not think that I should go to seminary. What I really wanted was for someone to take me under their wing and mentor me. I had a few brief and informal relationships like that, but nothing that was ever focused and sustained.

I just want to thank you for posting your thoughts, because I think this is such a critical concept.

Tony,
When this series is complete, would it possible for you to provide links to the entire series in a single post or side note? Thanks!

I wonder if anyone knows of internships relating to small churches or rural churches. This would be a worthy type of internship to start/consider, as many classes and experiences may not necessarily help equip pastors for some of the special challenges in these situations.
